Newspaper oh Newspaper: Is there any news?

Sickening, stressful, angry and all sorts of emotion running down the vein, when everytime you open up any daily newspaper,at any day nowadays, crime story is put as the headline. It seems to be ruining the morning, whatmore during weekends, where you expect to smell the breeze of fresh air with a cuppa in your hand and hear the voices of birds and squirrels outside your house. While sitting under the gazebo or wakaf or "gere" (Kelantanese word for them all), again with a cuppa, suddenly the early morning tranquility is destroyed at a glance. Oho, "Thanks" to the newspaper of the day. What a pity... I have headache when reading newspaper. It seems to me that there is no good news anymore these days. All are either bad news or not a news at all. Murder, rape, divorce, schoolbullying, bad decision-making by politician, corruption, cronism, political stories yang memualkan and many more. Some people, men particularly, read the sport section first, while I, jump to entertainment section first. My son will read the cartoon section, to have a good laugh first! There's one newspaper that my husband does not allow me to bring home, that is HM. If you realise, the many headlines of HM have always got to do with sexually-related story. So, we both feel that it is not healthy for my 12 year old boy- who starts liking newspaper - to be exposed to such story. Sometimes, the headline was misleading, you know lah, newspaper! But I like columns, written by certain columnists. Some of them really have good ideas to share, interesting to read, wittiness and sense of humour can be found, suitable for weekend reading. But some columns are not to our expectation: rubbish, dry and judgemental, simply not a good reading on weekends!
